As the cutting speed and feed speed of the tool are greatly improved, the life of the tool in the processing of HSCS is generally reduced, and the method needs to be taken from the following aspects to reduce the service life of the tool as much as possible. (1) Select the appropriate tool material according to the material of the workpiece processing. Cutting experiments for different materials show that the service life of different tool materials varies greatly, even more than a quantity level. However, the variety, grade and manufacturer of the material of the workpiece and the material of the tool are numerous and complicated, and the specific combination of the best can be selected from it only through the accumulation of experiment and long-term use experience. (2) Optimize the tool geometry parameters according to the workpiece material. Through cutting tests, it is found that the relative life of the tool can be improved by appropriately increasing the back Angle of the blade, shortening the overhang length of the tool as much as possible, and appropriately increasing the arc radius of the cutting edge when HCS process cast iron. (3) Optimizing cutting parameters according to the workpiece material, including cutting speed vc, feed per tooth fz and radial cutting depth. FIG. 2 Test results show that with the change of work-tool material combination, the optimal values of vc, fz and radial cutting depth of the tool, aiming at the longest relative life of the tool, also change, and there is a certain correlation between them.
