Characteristics of milling process
The characteristics of milling are as follows:
(1) higher productivity: milling cutter multi-tooth tool, in milling, due to the number of cutting edge at the same time to participate in the cutting, the total length of cutting edge action is long, so milling productivity is higher, conducive to the improvement of cutting speed.
(2) The milling process is not smooth: because of the cutter teeth cut and cut out, so that the number of working cutting edge changes, resulting in large changes in the cutting area, the cutting force produces large fluctuations, easy to make the cutting process impact and vibration, thus limiting the improvement of surface quality.
(3) The tool tooth heat dissipation is better: because each tool tooth is intermittent work, the tool tooth can get a certain cooling in the interval from the workpiece to the cut, the heat dissipation condition is better. However, when cutting and cutting parts, the impact and vibration will accelerate the wear of the tool, reduce the durability of the tool, and may even cause the fracture of the carbide blade. Therefore, when milling, if the cutting fluid is used to cool the tool, it must be continuously poured, so as not to produce large thermal stress.
